Off to the dark Medieval times!
We left stunning Marsala and popped into a huge salt pan set up in Mothia. Then it was iff to fertile country to Erice high on a mountaintop via Trapani. Erice is known for its 12th century Norman castle built over the Temple of Venus. It also has a Real Duomo (Royal Cathedral). There are wall hugging alleyways everywhere, niches & secret courtyards. I had checked the weather for Erice after leaving sunny Marsala. 22!° & windy. The low clouds covered everything on the mountain every 10 seconds! Gabriele our guide treated us to Sicilian pastry delicacies .eg a Genovase. Delicious! On to Palermo to our final hotel on our 2 tours. We enjoyed a final second last supper with a couple who are leaving the tour early.
