Day 20: Saturday. Novi Sad to Belgrade.
Off to the capital of Serbia. A walkingvtour to the fortress with Emil, saw the confluence of the Sava & Danube rivers. We admired "The Victor" Pobednik, the most famous symbol / statue to commemorate Serbia's victory over the Otterman empire. We then had over 4 hours to discover gems in Belgrade. We attempted seeking information from non English dealing people who were very kind & did their best to be helpful.
We took off & found the beautiful Belgrade orthodox cathedral. We just beat the raucous brass band celebrating a wedding to be held in the cathedral.
We stumbled upon another gem. Princess Ljubica's residence & one of the oldest buildings. 2 floors of exquisite Turkish influenced inlaid with pearl furniture pieces.
Down in the basement we found an incredible photographic exhibition plus the creator & his son. We were able to thank & heap praise on the man who had no English but his son did. Another museum plus coffee & ice-cream, then l was done!
