Day 4: Sofia Rila & Skopje

We were headed for Bulgaria's most famous tourist site, the UNESCO world heritage listed Rila monastery.  Founded in 10th century by the hermit Saint Ivan Rilsky. It was magnificent but no photos allowed inside.
We travelled across the border from Bulgaria to North Macedonia. We were stopped for an hour! Finally headed to Skopje the birthplace of Mother Theresa.
We had a sunset walking tour with the gorgeous learned guide Emil then found a place to eat our dinner. A sopska salut like a Greek salad.
Home to our Gold hotel to our black room. Others had a gold garish room which was blinding!
